As Hermione looks over the selections, she slowly returns to her senses. There was no way she was going to spend her prestigious family’s money on inane garbage like some of these choices. It would be beneath them.

“Ahem. This shirt is rather out of fashion. The colors on that jacket clash horribly. The patterns on these pants are quite displeasing. Those shirts can stay.”

The three girls stand up straight. “O-oh, okay!”
“Whatever you say, Hermione!”
“We’ll go return them right away!”

As the three scurry off, Hermione feels another strange feeling for a moment, before it quickly passes once more.

The uglies leave the store smiling, carrying multiple paper bags with clothes, as Hermione follows behind them, allowing them to lead the way.

“ohmigosh, i’m kinda hungry now”
“you know, me too!”
“we should go to the food court!”

On their journey, while the three uglies chatter happily about vapid nonsense, Hermione notices an interesting occurrence off to the side of the walkway up ahead. Evelyn Rivers, one of the key players for her planned meteoric rise next school-year, appeared to be speaking with some low-class commoner standing on a bench. While it could be a good idea to make some contact with her clique now, she also feels inclined to simply continue on her way with the three uglies. Being too desperate for connections placed her in a position of weakness, and perhaps the optimal path would be to pretend she never saw them at all.
