Foreign Minister of Germany Johann Wadephul has arrived in Ukraine for his first visit.

Being in Kyiv, he stated that "the freedom and future of Ukraine is the most important task" of Germany's foreign and security policy, Spiegel reported.

Mr. Wadephul said that Putin is trying to subjugate Ukraine through brutal bombardments. He also emphasized that Ukrainians are defending not only the freedom and sovereignty of their country, but also the security and freedom of Europe from Putin's aggression.

"We will continue to stand firmly by Ukraine's side so that it can continue to defend itself successfully – with modern air defense and other weapons, with humanitarian and economic aid," Foreign Minister of Germany said.
