I'm kind of glad I'm not alone in this. Lucy was and is a misanthropic character to her core. She's not a good person but I never really found that a bad thing story-wise. It worked fine enough in the volume 1 era for comedy but during her suffering spiral saga, Lucy not having Mike as the primary target for that angst made for some fun conflicts.
Hell, December would never have had the emotional punch it had if it didn't seem like Lucy was actually recognizing the consequences that her actions had on people and was driving her to course correct.
But the comic really suffered when it shifted that misanthropy to "trauma response" because Lucy is eternally stuck in victim mode now. She can't just be an asshole anymore because it's always in the context of her being wronged by someone or she has a PTSD episode and can't be faulted for her actions.
I kind of just want her to be a villain who sometimes has her good moments and sometimes cares about her friends but I honestly can't see how Taeshi can pull that off anymore.
