the Peter principle isn't the thing about loyalty, that's just my issue. it's when incompetent people keep getting promoted because they can't do the actual work, and take promotions, usually into management, and eventually get stuck at a position they aren't fit for and can't get promoted anymore, so now you have someone in a leadership role who can't do their job, or anyone's below them
