I used to like doing side quests, it was my favorite thing. Same for talking to NPCs. But eerything about them in Kai is so generic. Moreover in any other Kiseki game there was at least some motivator in the backghround to propel the story forward, give meaning to your actions. In Kai there is none for the longest part of the game. There is some nebulous talk about disappearences of foreigners without any impact or emotional weight, in other words the main plot is delegated to background noise.So in essence you run around through Edith like headless chickens without any real purpose for the first 2 fucking acts. That's why the side quests feel even more pointless than ever. Same goes for Grim Garten. You ask yourself "why am I even doing this?" Moreover Connect Events feel strangely out off place in any given situation, feeling tagged on and you again ask yourself the big question "why am I playing this shit?" Noting in Kai feels like it has purpose because it lacks any sense of direction. Kai may be the first actually bad Kiseki game and certainly objectively the worst game... And yes I fucking hate it and I hate it made me hate these characters and setting. Not even Kuro 2 managed this feat. Congratulations Kondom. You killed the series for me.
