started this anime while drunk following fourth of july. i dont know what i just watched.

in a way yes, but you don't seem to understand. that wasn't takopi's intention (which by the way that sleeper build must be studied) im only watching the anime so correct me if i am wrong. but im assuming marina is forced to make shizuka's life miserable because 1, shes helping her mom/being manipulated by her 2, shizukua's mom is flirty with marina's dad so shes personally pissed. and that doesnt give you a right to go for the child who has nothing to do with the conflict. at the end of the day they're fourth graders, they don't know shit. marina is just living a horrible life just as shizuku and her coping mechanism is bullying her and being on the top.
