I think that the thread looks better when characters are posted, most of the time. I like my character slightly more than most others, because I made her. I have also found that posts on an IMAGEboard with an IMAGE tend to have more responses. Oh, and sometimes I want my opinions to be attached to me.
I actually post more often without an image, but it'd be basically impossible to tell unless you were a mod.
