Yeah I had been looking into those actually, flying lizards too. I really don't like how rays patagia (thanks for the word) looks. Some non gliding animal that does something weird, like knuckles and his hair, could also work. Maybe something that literally uses their tail to fly, like how tangle uses hers as a tool.
