The National Socialists arrested so many priests that a segment of Dachau became known as the 'Priest Barracks', an estimation of about 2,500+ priests were detained here alone.

This is hardly surprising, as Christians, not pagans, made up the bulk of the anti-state subversives trying to assassinate Adolf Hitler, as documented in the following Gestapo reports:
