when i was in elementary school, i had a substitute teacher that was one of the first little black girls to experience what desegregation in the schooling system was like. she said that no matter who you are, a black person or otherwise, those words still hold that power, that intention, that they did when they were used as tools of oppression. they are still used to oppress now in similar, but different ways. she told us never to say words like that. i try to remember that, and to listen to her. she taught me that words can have intention.
i differentiatied anti-black racism from racism because black folk experience a unique form of racism, sole to their experience as a black person. (my experience and viewpoints are from the standpoint of someone from the united states. things could be different depending on your culture and context, is why i provide mine)
