I have a monthly subscription with a local coffee roaster with only two employees: a father and son. The father personally drives around delivering bags of their whole bean coffee at the beginning of every month to subscribers' front doors. One thing that some might take issue with is the lack of personal consistency/control over what beans you get, since it's up to them where the beans come from for a given batch. Also I've been with them for a few months now and everything has been medium roast, which is fine with me. Worlds better than anything I ever got at the grocery store.
