The Connection 2024 remake? For the most part, it's been well-received because of all the additional in-game content the Western Connections have compared to the Japanese counterparts which blows them away, and the fact that the core fundamental gameplay of Connection/Plus-era is good enough to be enjoyable regardless. The expanded roster has been getting new fans too, since it's a lot of people's first exposure to Western-exclusive characters and Osumesu returning characters. People were pleasantly surprised by Hashizoutchi coming back after being shelved for so long specifically. Collab and lottery shell designs have been very popular, like Ichibankuji's 20th anniv Keitama shell and the Omisecchi design shell.
However, there's also a subsect of core fans disappointed with the Connection too, specifically in the poor implementation of Keitama content (a lot of items were cut and the phone connectivity does not have a replacement among other things) especially considering the remake was advertised as a Keitama in Japan, the bad battery life compared to the original Keitama release, the sound effects being less cute, and the double-edged sword aspect of having a large roster. Most JP Tamagotchi releases have smaller rosters but in turn have very easy to understand growth patterns where following a guide will get you what you want, but the v3 specifically splits characters off in pools where you have a 1/3 shot of actually getting what you want. I've seen a lot of disappointment from fans who wanted to get original characters they were nostalgic for getting someone else entirely. Most fan disappointment comes from people who liked the Keitama going in expecting a proper remake of that instead of the v3, and I blame Bandai for marketing it as that.
I do wonder if we'll see future Connection versions get made, and if they'll stick to the Western gameplay styling or shift to Japanese elements, since the Entama and v4 are quite different from one another.
