It really depends on the age of the puffer when you introduce them, and the fish you house them with

If you get the puffer at an early age like mine, and house them with fast moving tetras you'll be fine even when they get to max size. I went with Congo tetras because they can grow pretty big & move 100x faster than my puffer, a large leopard pleco, and a leopard bush fish. (I'd say maybe don't get the leopard bush fish because they CAN be aggressive, I just got lucky)

It's just you need to get a much larger tank to keep them from getting antsy, stressed, and aggressive, my puffer that's smaller than a betta has a 75gal
