>Leave.
Lorene lets out a frustrated sigh. The very moment she was starting to make any kind of progress in finding her parents, a Witch had to appear. Absolutely terrible timing. She kneads her forehead, trying to think things through.
At this point, her parents’ trail was probably stone cold. Clearly, something had happened to them; they were likely trapped somewhere. Lorene refused to consider any alternatives. There wasn’t any guarantee they’d gone to the mall, and the whole trip could be a waste of time. The Witch, however, was definitely real. The fact that the Witch would kill innocent people if it wasn’t dealt with was real too. It seemed like Clover and some unknown girl were going to try to handle it. Could she just leave it to them?
Olivia looks at her, concerned. Lorene closes her eyes. …It’d be safer if she went. She knew her own abilities. She could probably handle the Witch quickly. Clover might be a complete novice, this ‘Bea’ could be the murderer. Her parents were already in danger; Clover was about to head into it. It’d be better to protect those she could guarantee she’d help, rather than pursue an uncertainty and risk all of them.
“…Olivia. I have to do something. I’m really sorry for asking you to come out all this way, but could you head home?”
>> Ѫ (M4 Charisma roll: 21 = Failure) << (Convince her to go back.)
“...Yeah no, that’s bullshit.” Olivia shakes her head in disbelief. “I’m not gonna let you look into this alone.”
Lorene already knew that’d be her response, but she wished it wouldn’t. The bus comes to its next stop, and when Lorene stands, Olivia does too. Lorene forces a smile. “I know you’re not gonna listen to me, but please, just trust me. I’ll explain everything when I get back.”
The two of them step off the bus. Olivia scoffs. “You’re too quick to try to handle these things on your own, Lorene.” Olivia stretches. “You can trust me too. I’ve got your back. You got some kinda lead, right? Where’re we heading?”
Lorene looks up at the sky, taking a deep breath. “…sorry.”
“Did you say som- h-huh??” The girl was already sprinting away. Olivia gives chase. “Hey, wait, that’s not fair!! You didn’t say ‘Go’...!”
After a few blocks, Olivia comes to a stop, wiping her forehead and panting. Lorene was already long gone. “Dang…! You always liked sports more than me, but were you always that fast…?”
