Not really related to the anon you're replying to but this is kind of my personal pet peeve: three point lighting isn't a rule, nor is it something you should really advocate for people to follow like one. It's a set of concepts, the image you're replying to at least is already generally in accordance if you actually peck each out. It's just the rim lighting there is tuned a bit too bright for the shady shot with no visible source for it to work as motivated lighting.
