"Tumblr art style" is most noteworthy for many shared traits of the artists themselves which produce similarly stylized artworrk rather than the art itself. In which, the "artists" in question are all inspired by anime, yet hate it with a passion, feeling it is not inclusive enough, primarily with their skewed perception of "normal" people and they seek to remake it in their demented image. The most common traits associated with the "tumblr art style" are wider proportions (or inversely, comedically lanky), darker skin tones, wider and/or redder noses, unconventional and borderline inhuman body types, down-played sexuality (breast reduction and occluded details), and flatter color tones.
While any one of these is perfectly fine and not indicative of a tumblr art style, the collection of these traits, their prominence in the 2010s, as well as the general arrogance, and the insufferability of the "artists" that post such things has led to wide-scale derision outside of their deranged hugbox.
