The idea of Iran as some impenetrable fortress has been put to bed this past few weeks.
I think the Israelis thought they had them with the drone and cyber attacks on their radar and defence networks systems. Fortunately, they were able to recover in a couple of days and start strikes on Israel.
I don't think the Israelis were counting on Iran being left with a strike capability and that is what ultimately lead them to seek a ceasefire. The Americans didn't want to get too much involved in mass bombing Iran because their assets (and the kosher Arabs oil production) were also vulnerable to the Iranians strike capabilities.
If it does kick off again the US/Israel will make sure to neutralise it quickly
