i was checking out at walmart for the gumbo i want to make tomorrow and was holding this okra and asked the jamaican self checkout attendant if she had any suggestions on how to cook it.. i've never seen okra outside of gumbo before and it looks a bit odd.. anyways she seemed surprised to be engaged in a human experience and was happy to share a jamaican recipe..

basically her behavior was nothing like 90% of black woman i have interacted with in my life. she was a real human who likely changes the battery on her dying smoke alarms the moment they start beeping.

doubt ill eat that picrel though... but it was fine of her consider it for me
