I feel like there's something really HUMAN about Terry. POWAH WAVES aside. He's your "always striving to become the best" type fighter like Ryu is, but rather than just being the stoic traveling warrior he comes off more sociable. You can see him going to bars, shooting hoops and generally hanging out with his friends. It helps that South Town itself is very well defined through the series but it's easy to see him do stuff that's not fighting. And I'm not slagging on Ryu or anything either mind you, I realize I'm being more than a little reductive but all the same.
