What's wrong with wanting to know wtf >>11339960 is on about? There's clearly a strong sentiment here, but it's inarticulate.
See, I get what >>11333025 is on about. If you create a space explicitly for non RP communication, and people RP in it... like, wtf, why? But I also kinda don't get the point of having a non RP general. General is like random, the stuff that doesn't belong anywhere else.
It's also obvious to me why RP in a channel meant for slower more persistent content, like news updates or resource references, would be annoying because it clogs that channel.
In general people who just go full RP in random comments and channels seem kinda dumb to me, but mostly harmless and they seem to have fun, so I don't think it's a problem.
I prefer the style that seems normal in banter, dropping into different characters as a joke or to explore some idea and then either discussing the characters/scene or moving on to something else. Not getting super anal about everyone having consistent persistent professional personalities all the fucking time.
To me it most def seems like both ppl who RP all the time with no self awareness, and ppl who need clear strict RP avoidance are dumb, but the strict ppl are more annoying cause their communication is both stunted and they are trying to force everyone else to adopt their own stunted communication.
