This. I work 84 hours a week too, but on a hitch rotation (I work in dredging). People like him need to shut the fuck up and get his ego in check. What he and others who believe him fail to realize in many of these cases is that you are not being paid for the totality of working 84+ hours, you are being paid for your AVAILABILITY during those hours. Yes, you will have some days that are just brutal, maybe actually working those full 12 hours, maybe even for multiple days. But you also have days where there ain't shit going on, and you're basically just doing normal tasks and chilling in between. Either way you're getting paid. Not for the work, but for being available in case some shit does go down and you gotta go fix it.

That's the unspoken truth.
