In contrast, mono this season had excellent animation. It was fun, vibrant, creative, and silly when it wanted to be, but also knew how to tone it down and take itself seriously and slow when it called for beautiful vistas and character bonding. The past couple episodes were extremely well animated and had a great range in that respect, but the overall show is weaker than hibimeshi because of several reason, but mostly just the writing and lack of proper direction and a throughline. They didnt focus enough on the core concept, which made it feel aimless. While I like the characters, comedy, and animation alot, there were mistakes made overall that drag it down. Hibimeshi didnt make any mistakes, it's as perfect of a pure cgdct as you can get
