Unironically my favorite Emperor release. The death metal sensibilities really do it for me. I think they got too far up their own asses with later releases. As a fan of first wave black metal, I don’t care much for the pure Norwegian sound (devoid of thrash or death influence) and I don’t care for “symphonic” anything.

This one is just right.
