Another 2x Drop event down...!
Wasn't able to capitalize on the occasion nearly as much as I would've preferred, but I still pulled-in a decent-ish haul of accessories from Draakon Arena. Plus more Scout Feedstock - can never have enough of that stuff.

During my dungeoneering, I encountered a group wanting to give CSN a shot. Nearly all of them were just as green as me, so the party's lead recommended we get the Guide ready for the occasion.
You know, THAT Guide. The Guide I've been actively avoiding since starting here for good reason.
Begrudgingly, I did give it a shot... Annnd it's just as obscene as I suspected it would be.

When using it, practically every attack is preceded by a big warning message across your screen, and major AoEs are outlined in arrangements of summoned scenery objects (usually flowerpots) showing their exact ranges (less useful on Starscape compared to other servers, I'd suspect).
The often-mindbending red/blue circles - regularly the crux of the encounter's true difficulty - even had huge signposts designating safe areas, besting the mechanic without any brainpower required.
In knowing just how much of this fight (and likely most others) becomes explicitly spelled-out for you when running this plugin, I understand now how these tougher stages can be tackled via the LFG Menu.

That said, to no surprise, it was also extremely unsatisfying.
Skynest(Normal) is already a rather plain encounter in general, and having everything solved for you in advance made things all the more droll. Outside of post-20% becoming rather messy, there was practically no real threat to be had during the fight.
No juggling of mechanics in your head, just follow messages or markers and don't think about it. So damn /lame/.

Haven't a doubt the practice of leaning on the Guide as a colossal crutch is employed by many folks playing TERA these days. But that sure as hell doesn't mean I have to like it, myself.
