Well obviously money isn't the focus of the bible, but I think some passages that clearly referenced monetary debt- or the concept of debt in general were deliberately changed into something exclusively spiritual. The parable of the three servants, for example. Was that Jesus motivating his followers to be motivated by profit? To make them have an interest in monetary issues? The lazy servant is clearly framed as the wicked character in that parable.
