As recently recovered documents from Lovecraft's estate suggests that his final written words (long kept from the public eye) were, infact: "There is nothing more reprehensible than America Meridum. A blighted land of half-breeds, inbreds, and rapists. I would rather take my eyes than live a day there."

It has been postulated that this final "anti-wish" was heard, though none agree by which force, and was granted, in reverse-order, for the sake of his edification. All agree the twist is ironic.
