Shit writing is still shit writing, regardless of how planned out it is. Teysa pulling some kind of Red Wedding Knight Of Long Knives would've been contrived but at least forgivable since this is a fantasy setting where the lore is mostly an excuse to sell .02¢ of ink and cardboard to nerds for $10 bucks a pop and Teysa is at least a long running and popular main character with good design. Kaya is plot armor DEI bullshit.
It's no wonder Magic is becoming Fortnite The Gathering, because the only sets people care about anymore are crossover IPs from franchises that haven't been totally raped to death by shitlib mindsets.
