Dude l, once upon a time it used to be almost legal to kill and beat up bums. The cops wouldn't investigate and if anyone saw it they would find you repulsive but many understood that the homeless were worse, so they kept their mouth shut. It used to be very dangerous to sleep out in the open because a pack of teens would cut you up for fun.
I miss those days.
