>Liverpool's annual Pride celebrations are back on after a charity stepped in to run the event, which was cancelled last month amid financial pressures.
(charity is Sahir House, HIV awareness:

>income: £262K, £197K aka 75% from gov (previous year gov money was £380K)
>expenditure: £428K
Lower down in the article says the original pride parade charity failed to get money and was (gasp) reduced almost to making every role a volunteer role! How could a charity survive on charitable behaviour?

>Previous Worthing Pride parades had cost about £6,000, with a main sponsor usually covering half that amount. In April, event organiser Gary Richardson said he had unsuccessfully been trying to secure sponsorship.
>Hundreds attended the event in 2024, with about 500 people expected to have taken part in the parade.
Hundreds!
Imagine if they stumped up £60 (£30 per day) to have a truly grassroots pride? Maybe they could have a parade every month at that low-low price!
Imagine how much your average protest costs if a parade costs a piddly £6,000.

The reason I'm bringing this up is because of BBC News on the telly.
They interviewed people on the ground, including Americans and Indians.
In short one spelled it out:
>all our funding is from US corpos
>because the US GOV is cutting Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity, we're getting no money!
>just look at how no-one had pride logos this year on xitter!
And here I thought state capitalism was fascist and funding foreign political groups was imperialist.
