You state that he had intentions of it doing anything more than bringing some zapzap to his village. He was a kid who enjoyed learning about electricity, and made his own generator. He never had any expectation of it going viral, as he didn't even know what the concept of going viral was, let alone that going viral would lead to opportunities for him.
