Isn't he the same guy that said he always envisioned Peach as capable as she was on the movie even though he spent the following 35 years since her first playable appearance ensuring hammering a portrayal that is anything but capable? I would not trust that senile bastard for a single second!
(to be fair, Peach's failed portrayal and Mario becoming a kids' company, among other things, could very well just be a matter of him not having total control of the IP, which is reasonable given the scale of it).
