I don't think it will take months. The main US concern right now are its bases and citizens near Iran's reach. Especially those in Iraq. Some US bases are 100km's from Irans border, and they are much easier targets than Israel. Israel is 2,000 kms away, and has the most condensed air defense system anywhere in the world. While US troops would suffer heavily like during 2020 Soleimani retaliation.
So US will either move those troops and US citizens out, or just wait until there are hundreds of air defense batteries in those regions. Satellite images already show that all non-hangared aircraft in Qatar have been moved away.
