Because admiralfags have propped them up to insane levels to the point that if they don't solo Roger it would be too little for them, despite endless evidence of them not being at emperor level.
Additionally because the one and only opportunity Oda had to write a proper conflict with an admiral was right after Whole Cake Island, which would've been a perfect bridge for Luffy power level wise between Yonko commander and low tier emperor, it would've also made Akainu actually relevant and not a laughing joke because he would've actually done SOMETHING against this fifth emperor Luffy shit, the guy that he knew since day 1 was gonna be a massive issue and probably wanted to kill more than Ace, instead he just sits on his ass AGAIN.

But instead we went straight into Wano and had to take like 4 years of that shit as Luffy gets one shot and then magically gets turned into a top tier by a random old man in jail.

So now admirals get put into this awkward spot where they cannot be a main threat anymore as seen in Egghead because, surprise, they've never been at emperor level.
And this gets worse the longer we go for them, soon enough they'll be fighting Zoro and Sanji.
Akainu is their final hope but at this stage he might be Sabo bait.
