This depends on how often it is. If they ghost your messages every single day and don't seem to care about it upsetting you or fixing it, this is perfectly reasonable.
Not responding in a timely manner once or twice isn't anything bad. If it's months and this is a pretty much daily occurrence then it's far less easy to sympathize with the shitty friend or make excuses for them.

This is stupid but also not unreasonable. You can disengage with people for any reason. I cut off a friend because I don't like the company they're surrounding themselves in. They are free to interact with who they want for whatever reason, just as I am able to do the same and we are both equally justified.

This is probably the only stupid reason you gave but at the same time, refer back to just above. There's a lot of people who see lalas as short, cute, adult humans. There's also a lot of creeps who see them as more "close enough but not quite there" and push that boundary with anybody they can. I would not fault anybody for not interacting with people like that who do tend to play lalafell more than other races.
