That's how simple it was. There was nothing complex about it. Look at the footage, they were inside the hospital and had to dig open the ground to enter. They literally had no point of access to it because the bunker was closed for 2 decades, Hamas obviously wouldn't use a fortification that was build/known by Israel when they can just make their own.
