Worse than that is the "pixel art" aesthetic.
OG pixel graphics are blurred and look more painterly on CRT which is what they were made for.
Indie games that overdo "blocky lego aesthetic" completely miss the point. Retro sprite art is way better than that but modern displays lack the softness.

Wish I had kept the CRTs had, now they are more expensive than a high quality OLED or whatever the latest thing is now.
