There were also other options, such as killing the person(s) that placed a curse on Ayane's ancestor or otherwise exorcising the dark presence from where it began—but this proved to be a difficult thing for multiple reasons, likely necessitating taking a trip to her Oceanippon (which would take weeks) as well as potentially having to hunt for monsters or evil spirits. There was also the possibility of simply suppressing the skill, though Herta advised against this due to it not being a permanent removal, merely placing the curse into a hibernation of sorts, and since it also needed the help of at least two Guardians to properly suppress it.

Herta had knew how to do all of those cures and assured you that there would be no side-effects or anything out of the ordinary going on.

"And you wouldn't call getting rid of a thousand-year curse out of the ordinary?" You asked.

"Eh." Herta shrugged. "I've studied purification, curse removal, and purging corruption for a long time. There's usually multiple ways to go about fighting curses or corruption, even tricky ones like cursed skills. Honestly, things just seemed to work out when I was looking into that. Maybe because I was studying how fortune worked, a little bit of it was left on me?" She cleared her throat. "Not to say I was lucky. This was all because of my genius!"

"Right." You couldn't help but smile. You don't think you're ever gonna get tired of this silly goddess of yours.

Though the choices all ended the same way— with Ayane getting the curse that plagued her removed— this was still a huge moment for your kitsune. While all of the ways to cure her ultimately didn't make much of a difference, save for those that would send you around the world, Ayane requested that you be with her. Considering this wouldn't eat into your time making aluminum, you happily obliged.
