If DMCA/cops are monitoring torrent activity and identify VPN IP X.X.X.X to be seeding copyrighted material, then passively monitor network traffic for that IP address and conclude that between this and that date X.X.X.X shifted 10TB of data, could they not go to all the ISPs and ask for users that have been connecting to that IP address and moved about 10TB of data there? A VPN doesn't obscure the connection to the VPN server itself, nor the traffic flow, just the content of the traffic. What am I missing?
