I pulled the trigger and ordered this monster of a starter set to join you all in 10th edition. Am I on time?

All kidding aside it was 160$, I'm going to take it out to my cabin Homestead for a in-house game and I was thinking about what combat patrol from a third faction would even out the choices available... what would you pick? My first starter box was the third edition one with those lethally sharp dark eldar... I've purchased multiple starter sets and put together about 4 different small armies over the last 20 years but I have never actually played through a game. Is it easier now? I also want to have everything I need to play in a vacuum without having to buy any more data cards or updates.
