been revisiting gpt4.5 since its dying soon anyway and its better than i originally thought it was
its rather smart and can have some good prose if you really direct it well, also likely the most receptive model to instructions but its proactivity is meh at best
definitely better than gemini but thats a low bar, i still think for cooming i prefer r1 because while it is a lot dumber the thinking adds some soul and theres no filter i have to work around aside from the rare oai training data response
plus the schizophrenia makes it more fun
i also dont think its better than claude even if ive never really used claude 4, the int gap between it and something like 3.6 isnt that high and claude has better creativity and dialogue, also needs less direction to write good usually
