i think back to wars in the past, and one thing i notice is that since the first world war political leaders stopped being directly involved in war. previously the nobility was expected to join the army and lead them in their attacks from the front. the blood of the nobility would be shed on the battlefield alongside the peasentry. but during and anfter the first world war politicians would dictate the war safely behind the front lines. in the great wars we so destruction and death on an untold level. the war would have been over much faster if prime ministers were in the front lines. the leaders no longer have to be faced with the reality of war and are willing to send most of their fighting age men to go and die. this is i think leads to a very dangerous situation when you you give these political dictators the power of nukes
