Since 4chan is unlikely to add age verification or comply with Ofcom's rules, it will probably ignore any compliance notices. In that case, Ofcom can take the issue to the High Court and get an order requiring UK internet providers and platforms to block access to 4chan. To avoid this, 4chan might choose to block UK users voluntarily. Either way, it is very likely that after October 25th, 2025, UK users will lose direct access to 4chan through ISP blocks or self-imposed geo-blocking.
