I think by default most such things shouldn't be taken too seriously.
Like that uh Enslavedanon or whatever was brought up before where we used to point out how MGE was like brainwashing despair town and more grim in a lot of ways than the straight up antagonistic monmusu settings.
But the thing is none of that was ever that serious, it's just funny to acknowledge how unintentionally grimdark the MGE setting is at its core.
