/gig/, on this most CURSED day I come to complain and I desperately need the input of the select few of you who might be moderately normal and occasionally talk with (real) people outside of anonymous imageboards or other online platforms
After finishing up a Nightreign session with a handful of people and another handful who just spectated through screen sharing the conversation somehow landed on gachas because someone mentioned they were looking for what they described as 'filler gamers' to play in the downtime periods where they had nothing else to do
A handful of people weighed in but I was the only one who brought up Genshin due to it being open world, a trait it shares with Elden Ring which I knew the person asking was a fan of, but it seemed like I was the only one who had a positive mindset towards the game. Everyone else seemed to be of the opinion that it was either too archaic by citing the absence of things like material domains being available on all days, lack of starter gifts for anyone making new accounts or, get this, resin taking too long to spend because the people complaining frequently were out of crystalflies of all things.
It seems like such an absurd complaint to me since I've got literal hundreds of them just from playing through the game normally, yet it seemed to be a genuine detriment to these people

I know this game some times has a bad reputation among gamers but I seriously need to know if this experience is a common occurrence or if this just was an isolated incident
