It’s also pretty common in Japanese furry art. Japanese designers tend to stick a little more on the human side when it comes to anthro designs, not to the level of human with cat ears but also not to the level of a completely animal face with an animal skull shape.

Meanwhile I think it’s more common for Western designers to have different skull shapes making them more like animal faces on human bodies instead of hybrid faces. Around the 5 level on that chart.

The thing I don’t like about the hrothgar is their tiny ears combined with their human face shape makes them look a little off.
