If you have spent 3500 years perfecting a grift while the rest of the world operates on 50-60 years, there is no way you can outcompete a tribe who has been doing the same thing to destabilize societies and commit genocides. For years they had to steal their way into a government to continue the grift. But in 1948 they guilt/bribe the world into giving them an entire country (that was somebody else's incidentally) as a base of operations for the theft and pedophilia.
