No one deserves anything; everyone must make the best of what they have and learn to live with it. If you don't like it, work hard to change it, make an effort, find a way. That's how I think, and as you can see, Hajime goes against my meritocratic philosophy. Having talent does not remove responsibility. Sonia, for example, has to grow up to lead an entire country. Nagito had to live a life of tragedy because of his talent. Fuyuhiko and Peko were born into a world of violence and death because of their talents. Then you have characters like Akane, who despite her talent still had to take responsibility for her siblings, or Twogami, who could be whoever he wanted but was never going to be himself. Hajime completely rejects everything his peers had to go through indirectly; he only idealizes having talent. He's not really a bad character, I just think that if he wasn't the MC he wouldn't have all the privileges he had.
