While I don't disagree with the overall sentiment, I think it speaks to the quality of current-day anime and otaku content at large that people would unironically include Precure and similar shows in their watch rotation. This is to say that modern otaku shit is mostly garbage (it always was, but somehow it's gotten even worse since around 2010) and that Precure punches above its weight a decent chunk of the time. It also has something of a Powerpuff Girls effect, where it has a bit of something for just about anyone who might watch it despite ostensibly appearing to be a show for your imouto.
