No, the big deal was that every robot, including Springtraps springlocks, looked like an simple robot mechanically that worked well through all 4 games.
Sister location robots look good but they do not fit the style established by 4 previous games, especially if you take the narrative into consideration. If anyone somehow never heard of FNAF but saw the original cast - they would quickly piece together that those are animatronics a-la chuckecheese. SL "animatronics" on the other hand look like full on sci fi robots from a completely different game and i doubt anyone would ever think that stuff like Ballora was designed as a children entertainment robot that was supposed to be rented out, even if as a kid murder machine, compared to slightly uncanny but overall safe looking crew from 1, which was made AFTER these.
All in all, i think the word i am looking for is "Overengineered" in regards to SL cast. Too much space-age bells and whistles, barely any actual animatronic. Yes they look like something Scott would make for Desolate hope... but here's the thing - this is not desolate hope,.which makes this argument equal to saying that putting Rayguns and Wookies into later indiana Jones movies is a good idea because George Lucas did Star wars before it.
