If you're just starting with the gym, select body weight exercises can be an alright start, but if your serious about growing butt/legs/thighs, you will be doing squats, hip thrusts, rdls, adductors/abductors, and calfs if you want the full legs run down without getting super anal about quad heads and what not.

On a different with pic related, I'm taking the plunge, but does anyone know how loud this gets? It's the one thing I don't think I read anything about but any other tips/advice would be appreciated
